POSITION SUMMARY: Promote and retain Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) membership in the Financial Education Center, on campus and throughout the surrounding community. Educate students, family members, faculty and staff about PSECU services. To demonstrate how to use automated delivery systems. Assist in the application process for PSECU membership and/or services.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for this position:
1. Assists the Business Advisor with the daily operation of the Financial Education Center.
2. Acts in the absence of the Business Advisor.
3. Provides direction and support to Financial Education Center staff including:
a. Assists with the training as determined appropriate by the Business Advisor.
b. Informs Business Advisor of misconduct or inappropriate behavior of student interns.
4. Ensures that the Financial Education Center is securely opened and closed according to standard operating procedures.
5. Ensures all applications are accurately completed and are processed, secured and forwarded to the main office in a timely manner.
6. Refers all unresolved member questions or problems to the Business Advisor.
7. Assists with the accurate monthly inventory of promotional items, applications, forms and brochures.
8. Ensures the orderly maintenance of the Financial Education Center and ensures that Financial Education Center equipment is used for credit union business only.
9. Assists in the control, issuing, securing and inventorying of the PSECU Instant Card.
10. Monitors the ATM to ensure availability to the campus community.
11. Operates Mag-Tek and Campus Card Reader equipment and completes Mag-Tek reports at Financial Education Centers offering the pinning of the student ID cardActs as a representative of PSECU by promoting credit union products and services.
12. Adheres to the operation of PSECU's internal controls established for the Financial Education Center.
13. Complies with all established University Development procedures.
14. Assists with a variety of operational procedures for the purpose of dual control.
15. Promotes credit union membership, products and services including:
a. Staffs interest tables throughout campus to promote credit union membership, products and services.
b. Assists with group presentations to university clubs and organizations, which may include weekend and evening hours.
c. Identifies potential groups and organizations within the campus community for membership promotions.
d. Recommends additional opportunities to expand membership to university faculty and staff.
e. Uncovers opportunities to promote the PSECU financial literacy program.
f. Participates in marketing campaigns at orientation and throughout the year.
16. Participates in special events which include summer orientations, move-in weekend activities, etc. to promote the value of PSECU membership to the university community. Events may include weekend, evening and summer hours.
17. Meets established membership and service goals.
18. Makes follow-up contact with new members through phone and/or email to ensure the success of the university member retention program.
19. Educates membership on automated services.
20. Promotes and cross-sells credit union products and services.
21. Directs members to online banking or Direct Access Call Center for account issues, account updates, financial transactions and inquiries.
22. Directs members to the website, www.psecu.com or www.college.psecu.com, when applicable.
23. Provides friendly member service to the university community by assisting applicants and helping to resolve member questions.
24. Adheres to business casual attire.
25. Must maintain a PSECU account in good standing. Online banking is strongly recommended, although not required.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for all PSECU staff:
1. Attendance - Regular and consistent attendance is required to maintain acceptable performance standards and routine duties of the position within the normal operational guidelines of the unit.
2. Confidentiality - Confidentiality and document control is essential to this position to ensure member data is secure and protected from compromise.
3. Creditworthiness - Must meet creditworthiness.
4. Bondable - Must notify Human Resources in writing of conviction involving dishonesty, breach of trust or violation of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Code (17 Pa. S. C. A. 101 et seq.) during the course of employment with PSECU.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Non-essential:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND SENSORY ABILITIES:
1. Repetitive movement of hands and fingers, i.e., for typing or writing.
2. Lifting and carrying containers weighing as much as 20-30 pounds, i.e., to/from building and vehicle, to a storage area
3. Sitting for long periods of time, i.e., at a desk, in meetings.
4. Ability to reach above, at and below the waist.
5. Ability to reach above, at and below shoulder level.
6. Occasional bending, kneeling, stooping and/or squatting.
7. Visual acuity.
8. Auditory acuity.

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Minimum Experience:
Must be enrolled as a student at the University/College.
Preferred Experience:
Previous customer service experience in banking, retail environment and sales preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
